Maeve O’Donnell is an uilleann piper and tin whistle player originally from County Donegal, with strong connections to County Tyrone. Now based in Belfast, she has quickly become recognised as one of the leading emerging musicians in Irish traditional music.

Maeve’s exceptional musicianship has been acknowledged through a series of prestigious awards, including the Young Musician’s Platform Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and BBC, the Gradam Ceoil Bursary Award in 2023, and the Mark Donnelly Award in 2017. She has also achieved numerous All-Ireland champion titles at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, as well as Scór na nÓg.

Her performance career has taken her across Ireland, Europe, UK, USA and Canada, where she has toured, taught workshops, and collaborated with a wide range of artists. Maeve has performed in major productions such as “Celtic Thunder” and several acclaimed Irish dance shows, and she continues to work regularly in both solo and ensemble settings.

She has featured on several recordings, most recently contributing to the new Na Píobairí Uilleann piping album. Maeve is currently developing a number of creative and educational projects supported by the Young Musician’s Platform Award.
